English is the third most spoken language in the world and for years it has been a indispensable condition, and also for all those who want to access an international company or aspire to a well-paid position.
For years, 61% of job offers aimed at recent graduates have required that candidates speak a second language, according to the Randstad Professionals report. This is an essential requirement for 65% of those seeking professionals for middle management positions and for 100% of senior management positions.
Proof of the importance of language skills for companies is that Spaniards with a better level of English are accessing positions that have salaries between 30% and 50% higher than those who are not bilingual. The latter are generally accessing unskilled jobs.
However, in our country, the English proficiency of young people is not good. In the second edition of the EF EPI English Proficiency Index study, it was found that they have the worst level of the countries in the European Union. The study measures the language proficiency of 1,7 million adults from 54 countries and we are behind Portugal, Hungary, Poland or Russia.
According to Julio Bañados, director of EF Education First in Madrid and organizer of the Second Foreign Language Fair held on February 7, 8 and 9 in Spain, “young people need to complete their academic training and broaden their professional horizons, but they are limited by Spanish.”
En TRAVEL WORK We are aware of the importance of this language and that is why we offer a wide range of programs for participants to improve their English.
